ELIAS version 2.11 (13.05.2024)

The presentation of the tables in ELIAS has been reprogrammed. The tables use the latest technological possibilities, have increased accessibility and are more user-friendly in terms of display and operation. New features include the ability to sort the table columns individually. The previous functionality remains the same. The table view can be configured via the cogwheel in the table header on the right. In addition, a text editor with extended formatting options is now available for all text fields, e.g. messages. (as of 13.05.2024)

New application type essential changes

The notification of essential changes to the subject of accreditation as part of a program accreditation has been carried out via ELIAS since April 2024. An application type “Notification of (essential) change” has been set up in ELIAS for this purpose. The reporting for notifications of essential changes is analogous to the reporting for program and system accreditation applications. See also “How do I report an essential change”.

Application type “Deadline extensions”

Since mid-September 2022, system-accredited higher education institutions have been able to use the “Deadline extension for internally accredited study programmes” application type to enter internally granted deadline extensions in ELIAS.

Until now, system-accredited higher education institutions have also used the application type “Entering an accreditation (internal)” in ELIAS for their internal deadline extensions. Since internally accredited study programmes can only be entered in the Accreditation Council database in conjunction with a Quality Report as of 31.03.2021, the Quality Report is defined as a mandatory document in ELIAS.

When applying for a deadline extension, however, higher education institutions do not need to upload a report to ELIAS. If a deadline extension of the existing internal accreditation is entered via the new application type, it is automatically published with the report for the last accreditation issued.

This is NOT an application for program accreditation/deadline extension. The system-accredited higher education institutions merely use this structure to transmit the current accreditation information of the study programme so that the entry in the accreditation database can be made automatically.

If you have any questions about the new application type, please contact the ELIAS team at the Head Office of the Accreditation Council by e-mail.
