Bodies

The Accreditation Council Foundation has the following bodies:

Accreditation Council

The Accreditation Council is the central decision-making body of the German Accreditation Council.
It decides on the accreditation and reaccreditation of study programmes, universities’ own quality assurance systems and Alternative Procedures.

The Members of the Accreditation Council are appointed for a period of four years.

Foundation Council

The Foundation Council monitors the legality and efficiency of the management of the Foundation’s business by the Accreditation Council and the Board of Directors. Its members are appointed by the German Rectors’ Conference and the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs for a period of four years.

Board

The Board implements the resolutions of the Accreditation Council and manages the Foundation’s day-to-day business, unless the Accreditation Council is reserved the right to make decisions. It consists of the Chairperson of the Accreditation Council, the Deputy Chairperson of the Accreditation Council and the Managing Director of the Foundation.
