21 November 2022 – The Accreditation Council in dialog – Topic of the day: Role and self-image of expert committees

On 21 November 2022, the fourth edition of the format “The Accreditation Council in Dialogue” took place on the “Topic of the day: Role and self-image of expert committees”.

Under the moderation of Dr. Verena Kloeters (Commercial Managing Director of the agency AQAS e.V., Prof. em. Charlotte Schubert (University of Leipzig, deputy member of the university professors on the Accreditation Council), Dr. Frank Peter Ritter (Senior Manager Bayer AG), Dr. Carsten Roller (Head of Department at VBIO e.V.), Ms. Katharina Mahrt (former student expert) and Dr. Andreas Grünes (Deputy Head of the Department of Program Accreditation & & Evaluation). Head of Program Accreditation & Quality Management at the head office of the Accreditation Council) entered into an exchange with the approximately 170 participants about the different expectations of the work of peer review committees as well as about what makes a good peer review procedure – also from the perspective of the experts.

  • The Accreditation Council in dialogue

    Since 2021, the Accreditation Council has been engaging in mutual exchange with universities through its “Accreditation Council in Dialogue” format. This format aims to address a wide range of topics, all of which are relevant to accreditation.

    Topics covered so far have included:

    – Alternative procedures
    – Cooperation with non-university institutions
    – Diversity of quality management systems – What leeway do universities have?

    – Role and self-image of review panels
    – System accreditation
    – The significance of qualification objectives for accreditation
    – Dual study programs
