The suspension of Section 28 MRVO and Section 3.6.3 under the old law (essential changes, resolution dated 27.03.2020) is limited until 30.09.2021.
The extraordinary extension of accreditation (resolution dated 10.03.2020) can be requested for accreditations (program and system) that expire on 30.09.2021. The application does not have to be justified by the cancellation of the inspection, but all corona-related circumstances that lead to a delay in the schedule apply.
Background:
The Accreditation Council has received inquiries as to when the resolutions mentioned would apply in order to be able to plan for the longer term. Resolutions of this type should also be limited in time from a legal perspective. With regard to the duration of the suspension of § 28 MRVO/section 3.6.3, the Board has followed the Corona Epidemic Higher Education Ordinance of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. As things stand at present, it cannot be assumed with sufficient certainty that “normal operations” will resume in the 2020/21 winter semester. As inspections for accreditations expiring on 30.09.2021 would already take place in the coming winter semester, there is a need for an extension option. Applications for extensions that have already been submitted will be approved, if necessary retrospectively.
