Today you are receiving the 23rd Newsletter of the German Accreditation Council.
Focus on diversity at universities
On 26 June 2023, the Accreditation Council, universities and other stakeholders involved in quality in teaching and learning discussed the topic “Diversity at universities – challenges and design options for teaching”.
Keynote speeches, parallel panels and a panel discussion offered the approximately 240 participants the opportunity for exchange and discussion.

117th meeting of the Accreditation Council
On 27.06.2023, the Accreditation Council convened for its 117th meeting, which took place virtually. The Accreditation Council discussed
234 applications for programme accreditation, covering 550 study programmes, and
24 applications for system accreditation were decided.
Furthermore, the Accreditation Council agreed to keep the duties of disclosure for “essential changes” to study programmes as low as possible. As a result, it will promptly revise the existing FAQ on this topic.
Furthermore, the Accreditation Council has decided to cooperate with the Student Accreditation Pool.

On 16 November 2023, a joint information and further education event of the Accreditation Council Foundation and ACQUIN e.V. on the topic of system accreditation will take place at the University of Hannover.
Under the title “Three actors, one objective (?) – The roles of higher education institutions, agencies and the Accreditation Council in system accreditation”, the one-day face-to-face event offers a forum to understand the entire “life cycle” of a system accreditation procedure and to exchange views on assessment and application procedures for system accreditation and system reaccreditation in workshops, among other things.
