114. 114th meeting of the Accreditation Council
On September 22, 2022, the Accreditation Council convened for its 114th meeting in Mainz and met in person for the first time in two and a half years. The Accreditation Council discussed
238 applications for programme accreditation, covering 673 study programmes, and
seven applications for system accreditation were decided.
Furthermore, it adopted a handout entitled “Promoting quality development through accreditation – a look at teacher training study programmes”, which was developed by an Accreditation Council working group. The paper was discussed publicly as part of the “Quality Dialogues 2022 – Teacher Education” and the feedback from participants was incorporated into the final version.

Following a demanding evaluation process, the Accreditation Council has achieved full membership of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA). This confirms that the actions of the Accreditation Council, as under the old system, comply with European standards. The next step, the application for listing in the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR), is already being implemented (further information on the
