Prof. Dr. Philipp Pohlenz (*1971) has been Professor of Higher Education Research and Professionalization of Academic Teaching at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg since 2014. He studied sociology at the Universities of Hamburg and Potsdam, graduating with a degree in sociology (2000). As a research assistant, he worked as managing director of the Center for Quality Development in Teaching and Studies at the University of Potsdam, where he completed his doctorate at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences on the topic of “Data quality in the evaluation of teaching and studies” (2008).
Philipp Pohlenz is a freelance consultant for development projects in the field of higher education management in various countries in Southeast Asia and Southeast Europe (since 2003). He is a member of the Society for Higher Education Research (GfHf), the Society for Evaluation (DeGEval) as well as The European Higher Education Society (EAIR) and is co-editor of the journal “Qualität in der Wissenschaft” and the handbook “Qualitätsentwicklung in Studium und Lehre”.
